from Great Britain. She is born September 29, 1982, in Cambridge, England. Williams
was a 400m runner before, but switched to skeleton
in 2002. The beginning was pretty good, and in her first major event she won a silver medal in Lake Placid, part of the 2009 World Championships.
At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Amy Williams won the gold medal in the women’s skeleton! By that way she became the first British gold medalist in an individual event at the Winter Olympics for 30 years. Amy performed just perfect, winning by more than a half a second, and also breaking the track record twice.
